Original US WW1 Navy Recruitment Poster (28 x 42” / 92 x 138 cm) originally painted by Kenyon Cox (1856-1919).  This poster was created in New York by the H.C. Miner Litho. Co. in 1917. This rare original World War 1 vintage poster showcases a figure of Lady Liberty in a red cloak holding a sword and scroll which is inscribed “We can do no otherwise.” In the background sails a battleship in the deep blue ocean under a partially cloudy blue sky. “The Sword is Drawn the Navy Upholds It!” U.S. Navy Recruiting Station

Originally rolled this poster is in good C8 condition with only minor wear and wrinkling along margins at top and bottom. The poster is mounted to vintage silk as was common during this period. We can reline the poster for an additional $80 upon on request.
