WW2 French Journee Franco-Britannique Linen Backed Poster

Journee Franco Britannique 5143LB

JOURNEE FRANCO-BRITTANIQUE, 1939 by Jean Carlu (1900-1989) Original WW2 Poster and measures 30.5″x 46″ (118 x 151 cm) and was issued shortly after the Germany invaded Poland and before the Germans took over France. Perhaps most striking aspect of this poster are the glazed eyes and worried but determined expressions of the two soldiers. His style, heavily influenced by cubism, always appears modern and precise even by today’s standards. Printed in 1939 to benefit the allied fighters and their families.
