CHANG AND FAK-HONG’S United Magicians Presents Hara-Kiri, 1920’s. Original Vintage Magic Poster (17.5 x 25” / 44 x 64 cm) Linen Backed and restored. Chang was the stage name for Juan Jesorum (1889-1972) an illusionist and a native of Panama. Fak-Hong also a western magician was active with Chang in Europe during the  1920’s and 1930’s. The exploration of China at the turn of the century provided plenty of material for magicians to exploit especially in the realm of the mystic and occult. These two westerners were among the more popular these touring magicians and in this poster they promise to perform Hara-Kiri or ritual self sacrifice. This poster was printed in Valencia in Spain.

This poster is in fine condition and printed on thin sepia toned paper. The poster is mounted onto linen has received two small repairs (<1″) to the central left and right margins.
